News brief: This match is predicted to be a virtual knockout, with the winner going straight to the semi-finals, barring a few extreme circumstances in which both England and the West Indies advance. England can advance to the next round with a defeat of the West Indies if their margin of defeat is small enough: a one-run loss if the first innings total is between 97 and 134, or a two-run loss if they are chasing between 61 and 96. If England is batting first, they can afford to lose with just one or two balls remaining. Though South Africa has one foot in the semi-final, they are not quite there yet.

For their last group match, the West Indies will be hoping that Stafanie Taylor is available. After ten overs in the brief chase, the seasoned Taylor, who opened against Bangladesh, was forced to retire injured. Taylor had been dealing with a knee issue during the competition, according to captain Hayley Matthews, who later stated: "She knows how to manage her body pretty well." She is an essential member of our team, but once more, she is a fighter, and if she weren't up to the task, I doubt any of our physiotherapists or physicians would have her out here."
